Old News

20050518
Massive update. Doesn't look big but it is. Put a release page for our new CD Terrorism and War, as well as the newest Magnacarta release, as well as a page for the Pigeons CD. Added 2 new shows as well.

20050403
Added a show. Warehouse Next Door, April 6th. Be there.

20050327
Added a massive image update, will soon have the new CD information online as well as the Violence interview. J'Rot's split is also available and we will update with that information shortly.

20050210
CD release show at the Kansas House February 25. Terrorism and War. See this show.

20041230
Added a DC9 show as a last-minute fill-in for The Twats. Scott "Lord Taint" is getting his leg worked on so they had to cancel the show. Wish him the best of luck.

Due to police involvement, we weren't able to play the Expanded House show. Thanks for everyone showing up and/or sticking around before it was busted.

The most recent Magnacarta split has been completed. Look for it soon.

20041129
Added more show information. We're also still doing behind-the-scenes CD work.

20041031
Added a few more shows.

20041012
Added a new show and some pics. We've been taking our time with the new CD but its coming. Also, the Magnacarta split should be rotating soon. More stuff is in the works.

20040923
Once again, this Saturday will be one of The OPs last shows. Your attendance is required.

Added another boatload of pictures and a show.

20040917
Sadly, The Overprivileged have announced that they will be no more soon. Though they don't have our persmission to break up, they think they will anyway. We do have the pleasure of playing with them on the 26th at CCAS, so please attend.

Added a boatload of pics and more on the way.

20040905
Our sincerest apologies to both Rashad and Sam for the shows we've had to cancel. Hendrik has had this stomach thing. Its not like a "take some Pepto man" type of stomach thing. Its more like doctors are saying "you have a stomach issue" type of stomach thing. We're not ones to slow down too much so expect us back on the saddle in no time.

We have been focusing on layouts for our releases coming up and should soon have a mastered version of "Turrurism and War", our new CD.

20040808
Sorry for lack of updates. In short, we finished recording a new CD. Look for MP3s of that soon. We also have a few new shows to report.

20040609
Added CD release to the shows page.

20040603
Changes on the shows page, and also we are now recording again in late July. If you're in this band, that means Friday July 23rd 2004 and Wednesday July 28th.

20040504
Thanks to everyone checking out the mp3s. Added newer pics.

20040503
Brian Redbeard from Tradition Dies Here hooked us up big time on web space. Because of this, mp3s from We Are Not the Pigeons are available. That probably means you should click on the "mp3s" link.

20040429
Finished our CD. Nuff said.

20040318
Lots of stuff. We're finished with the recording phase of "We Are Not the Pigeons". 7 songs, lots of yelling and loud noises. That also means our material for our other releases is finished. We're quite pleased with how it turned out.

Big Noose (Scott Nussman) is doing a compilation which we may make some noise on. Look for updates on that soon.

Added some good shows to the shows page. Scott Pasch's bday. Come on out.

20040216
We're going back to Oblivion on Thursday to record the final parts of our new stuff. We laid down 9 songs so we will have a good amount of material to play with. Also, some cool shows are coming up. Ones with our long-time friends from Hulk Smash and The Overprivileged. Plus, Expanded House shows are wild.

20030131
Sorry for the lack of updates. Xmas, moving, new job, playing with Linux, etc kept me from updating. Anyway, we hit the studio in February which will give us content to put in Magnacarta's upcoming compilation as well as a 7 inch with 10th Key.

Shows... well, the Daughters show in December didn't happen much to our chagrin, but eh, oh well. The show in the 24th didn't happen either, as well as the 23rd, or even the 22nd. The order of what happened is: Lost It couldn't do it, no word from The Basement, and Mike was sick. Alas, we played last Thursday at the U-Turn and have a swell show in February because of Karma Payment Plan. Head to shows to get the skinny.

Pics from our most recent shows are coming. They take time to put up and im lazy at the moment.

20031202
Added a new show in December with Daughters and Magrudergrind. Here is one link for more information. We've been fans of As the Sun Sets/Daughters for years, so we're very happy to play this show.

Will add the pics from the last show soon.

20031109
Added some shows.

20031026
Played some fun shows. We played a Grog show out of nowhere. The Expanded Form house show was probably the best of the shows we have played after reuniting. Lots of cool people, free show, and very low scenester representation.

We have a couple of projects that have been offered. One split with A Day in Black and White and a compilation tape with Will J'rot. More on these as they develop.

Added new shows, photos, and releases.

20031013
The Magrudergrind House show was a lot of fun. That and we should be doing a song for Will J'rot soon. Oh, and added new pics.

20031001
The Berryville show didn't happen but it was ok because Jizm, the promoter, waited for us and gave us some money to frolick in Winchester. We drove on route 7 until it split, then we stopped and ate at Camino Real. There was also this "indoor funland" that looked interesting in a frightening kind of way, but when we pulled up we found it was a kids place.

We added some more shows, many thanks to the people responsible for them. Be sure to hit the show on the 18th as 10th Key (ex Emerge Unburnt) is playing.

20030917
So yea. We're back after almost 2 years of not being around. Why did we break up? Time. Wasn't enough time. So rather than just weasle into obscurity as we got rustier and rustier, we all decided that we should just pull the plug while it was still cool.

The three of us went our seperate ways in that time. Hendrik and I kept doing bands. Mike went the respectable route and buckled down on the college. In the late summer we all just kind of started back up. We all just wanted to do music that was fun again. So here we are.

20030911
We're back after almost 2 years of being broken up. More details on everything soon. Feel free to click on things.

12:11:2001
Ha, look how quickly we update things? Sorry. We are all kinds of busy with non-music stuffs. I worked at a wretched company for some weeks and now work elsewhere. The latter means I am going to pull a move to Fairfax Virginia. As per the recording, there just needs to be vocals and bass to be complete. So since we don't charge for anything we do, Im no longer going to try to estimate when we will have this monkey done.

11:06:2001
We began (finally) the tracks for the Tri-State split. Look for it soon, Grandma.

08:25:2001
Its official, I live and work full-time in Alexandria. Well, until I move again but for the very first time Left Unsaid will be taking no breaks while I go back to college. So the good word is that we are almost finished material for the split with Tri-State. Some more shows in the works, and 25% more tuna in every can.

07:05:2001
Sorry for the lack of news postings. Mainly we have been doing new material as well as setting up stuff. We have a nasty habit of scheduling shows on the same days weddings occur, but what can you do?

05:12:2001
There hasn't been much news lately because I have been really busy. College, college, and mo' college. I just graduated, so I will have more time to do things. This now marks an era of Left Unsaid having more time to write things, as opposed to working with constant deadlines pertaining to college and the getting to and fro.

Anyway, we got some stuff going on. We are going to do splits with Tri-State Killing Spree and Fire Down Below. That is great news because both are really cool bands with really cool people. With Fire, we will also be doing a micro-tour of the Northeast. All of this tomfoolery will commence during the summer.

03:27:2001
Added all of the songs from "Better Than Black Hair Dye" to mp3.com. They seem to be taking their time, so they are currently available at mp3.washingtonpost.com/bands/left_unsaid.shtml.

This weekend we stayed in Philly with the wonderful and hospitibal Fire Down Below. We had a freaking great time. Discussed was the posibility of doing a split 7in.

03:04:2001
The CD is finished! Or it will be on Thursday, March 8th. We will be unveiling it, for free of course, on the birthday of The Cactus. Also added were some pictures thanks to smallfiction.com.

02:19:2001
The CD is _almost_ finished. The layout is done, and the master is _almost_ done. I am hoping we can have it finished in a week.

02:06:2001
The fourth revision of the web site is now finished. It took me longer than it should have, but then my own sites always do. Making pages for others never takes long and I always end up liking them better. Hmm, maybe I should pretend to make Left Unsaid pages for others...

The CD needs a new bass track and a layout and then it is gravy.

01:08:2001
Winter break is almost finished, as is our newest CD. 4 songs, rock and roll, and free. After the CD is gold, its back to booking and long 1-day-travels.

11:11:2000
Mp3.com now has 2 of our new CD mp3s, so get hooked up. Also, hugs to Overprivileged for giving us another show. Now if their site was Linux friendly...

11:05:00
It looks like we will be doing a split CD as well as another release this winter. More later.

10:03:00
More school has been keeping me busy, so I update when I can. Many thanks to the Overpriviledged for getting us two shows this past weekend. We had a lot of fun. We have a number of shows on the horizon, many thanks to those who hooked us up.

09:18:00
The reason for the lack of updates is because of my new apartment not getting a phone line until recently and my school-work kicking the crud outta me. For hours a day I do things like "g++ person.cpp" and "DESCRIBE location". Its fun stuff, lemmie tell you.

The news is that we have played a bunch of shows and the write-ups are in the usual location. I hope to have our new MP3s up in a few days barring any homework explosions.

08:18:00
Our CD is finished. Like every release we have done so far, it is free. Talk to one of us to get hooked up. I am receiving a lot of email regarding the show at Jammin Java and unfortunately I am not the one to talk to. Andy at acushman@erols.com would be a better choice. For that particular day, we will be playing both the VFW and Jammin Java.

03/24/00
We are finalizing the upcoming shows. Ugh. Getting confirmations. Also I added a new bio page.

03/19/00
The 1208a Franklyn Street tradition continues. We played a show there on St. Pattys day along with The Remotes, Lewistown, and Blair Story. All that and a drunk guy.

We are mainly focusing on the next VFW show. We have most of the bands and are waiting on a few. Saturday, April 29th in Falls Church. Go forth and flier.

We had a "hack" attempt on the guestbook. Seems an "AOL Warrior" tried to retrieve our password. Fear the AOL...

03/09/00
Man my break is almost over. I updated the pics section finally. The fisrt row is from our last Cave show. The second is from the Leesburg show from October.

Last night was funny. We were practicing at 10:19pm when one of the neighbors was screaming outside. So we, of course, waited until we needed a break to go outside. We were greeted by a middle-aged man on the verge of tears. I wonder if he was really upset or if our music made him cry? Anyway... We were showered with his heart-wrenching story of how "we belong in a nightclub somewhere" and how he "had to get up at 4am because he had a job." Though we felt this was a bitter and rude gentleman, we knew the law was on his side in Fairfax county so we cheerfully complied.

03/07/00
Since I am home for Spring Break, we are writing new stuff for the show in Richmond on the 17th. We also just sent off an interview to Holly from DCRiot zine. Were glad to have had that opportunity. We also want to thank Crestfallen for getting us on the show at the Kaffa House on March 3rd.

The hardest working Hardcore webmaster Pablo, has updated his mp3s. Go check those out. Also we are renting out a few places to play some more shows. If your band is interested, let us know. I didn't mean that to rhyme...

02/21/00
The show at VFW came and went, and we wrote about it in the shows section. We are focusing on the next two shows in Richmond. That and finding ways to keep guitar strings from breaking.

02/17/00
Obviously, the site has been updated. Please look around and give an opinion.

February 9th, 2000
The show on Feb 19th is finalized. The place is the VFW wharehouse[sp?] in Falls Church Virginia, 7118 Shreve Road. The bands playing are:

Age of Ruin
Apathy
Left Unsaid
Caught Looking
Boxcar Children

Those were confirmed by Hendrik as of February 8th. There will be others, but they have not given a concrete confirmation yet.

February 3rd, 2000
Freespeech.org seems to be having a bit of difficulty it seems. I didn't know they deleted our old mp3s until today. Looks like we may have to find a new place to host us soon. I just put 3 new mp3s up so lets see what happens.

We rented out the VFW place in Northern Virginia for a show on Feb. 19th. We have about 7 bands planned, including Page 99, De Nada, and some others. We will have more on that soon.

January 16th, 2000
We just finished the show at the Cave in Hagerstown. It went pretty well. Last time we were only able to play for a few minutes due to: 1 broken guitar string, 1 broken bass string(the low E, don't ask me how Mike did that), and something wrong with Hendrik's pedal. Given those circumstances, we took extra precautions for this show. However, I do recall before the show Mike saying "I forgot my extra bass." "Oh you won't break another string. That was one in a million", we told him. Not even before our first song ended, Mike broke his E string. Again.

Mike fixed his string(used an A string tuned to E) and we continued normally, many thanks to the infinite patience of the crowd and others. Scott and Todd were really supportive, and we appreciated it. The fact that everybody danced and had fun made the show great.

The new tape is finished. Its free, and its our best yet. If you live near us, pester us for one if you don't have one already. Once we get a master CD made, I will make some more MP3s.

The site will be redesigned soon. I am waiting on some pictures and a bit of free time.

January 13th, 2000
Many apologies for not updating for a bit. We all have had a pretty good amount of work to do. The most notable event is that we recorded again. 8 songs, much better quality, and no more "Uh I think the vocals are a bit off." That release should be finished shortly. Since the quality is much better, likely the MP3s will be replaced.

We played a show in Spotsylvania VA, near Culpepper. We played with Cobra Cai[spelling?], Self Enemy, Dirge, and some others. It was a pretty good show--the people setting it up and attending were very supportive of the music. That area really had that "unfake" like of music and willingness to listen. Many thanks to the people that watched us.

On January 15th, Saturday, we are returning to the Cave in Hagerstown to play a battle of the bands. From the email we were sent:

November 28th, 1999
We played the show at the Cave. Many thanks for the show's promoters for being so good to us despite two string breaks and drum trouble. Dj of Underbrush was so kind as to let me borrow his guitar once I broke a string. Thats exactly the thing that is good about the scene.

We had ourselves a little fan at the show as well. While we were playing, a fellow trying to impress his friends was mocking us the entire time. So after the set, I walked right up to him and had a little talk. The guy, Luke, didn't speak as easily to my face as he did when we were on stage. Hmm, maybe a cat got his tongue...

We might return to Leesburg on December 11th but are still awaiting the final word from Douglass Community Center. We might also return to the Cave on January 15th. We will keep you posted.

November 25th, 1999
The show will be on Saturday, at the Cave in Hagerstown(Not Greensburough) MD with Underbrush and Terra Firma. The show starts at 8pm and costs 6 Dollars. The Cave is at: 239 E Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD 21740-4971.

Thanks very much to Pablo from Pheer.com for hosting our, as well as other band's MP3s.

November 11th, 1999
I just added two new MP3s from a remixed version of our 1999 demo. Blame and Gunshot. As per the last news update, the show will be November(not October) 27th, at the Cave in Greensburough Maryland. I will post directions and more information as we receive it.

November 1st, 1999
We just played a battle of the bands in Leesburg VA, at Douglass Community Center? Is that right? Anyway, we played with No Potential, Archangel, Scapecoat, Elixir, and some others. All in all, it was a good show. I had to drive from Richmond to Alexandria to Leesburg then back to Richmond, but it was all worth it.

We are playing somewhere in Maryland in late October, possibly with Clutch so look here for more on that jazz.

As per the site, we have remixed mp3s made from our newest demo ready to go. All I need to do is cart my exam-ridden self to the computer lab and upload them. In the meantime, I put up mp3s from our 1998 demo. The new ones will be posted in a few days.

September 5th, 1999
Our web site is now on a different server, freespeech.org. This allows us to post Mp3s and not have the stupid Tripod window get in everybody's way. Apparently, not everybody is afraid of Mp3s...

August 26th, 1999
Decided to put some more pics up. They are the ones that made it into our demo. Having them also on the site is good because they are smaller and a bit grainy on the tape inserts.

I am now in Richmond and am newly 21. Not too much is different except I can sell under-age kids alcohol for a hefty profit. Just kidding. Getting into shows without paying the ridiculous "under" charge will be a good thing.

August 21st, 1999
The obvious. I revamped the site. Since the last update, Left Unsaid played two shows. We played at a friend's party on August 7th with Product One. That show was nice except that I blew out my amp right before we went on.

The next show was at a church of sorts on August 14th with S-Process, Ingrain, and Reverse Theology. Thanks to pheer.com for listing it on their upcoming shows. Let us all thank tin foil for making my amp cooperate during that show.

Left Unsaid now has another tape out. 4 songs, insert with photos & lyrics, and free. I will post mp3s as soon as I can find some net people with space to spare. Once again, Tripod won't allow mp3s. Yay Tripod.

August 3, 1999
*Sigh* Hendrik went and pulled some strings at his place of employment to get a CD pressed so I could make some Mp3s. Well, I did but our server won't let us host them. What a crock. I will fix this soon. In the meantime, I added a better pictures page. Go wild.

July 29th, 1999
I have so much crap going on that I have been slow to update this site. Mainly, Left Unsaid has been doing that recording. I sent Hendrik off with the revised master of the 4-song tape in hopes it will magically return as a cd tomorrow. If such is the case, there will be some Mp3s here by tomorrow.

As for the site, I fixed a few things and added some pictures. Lyrics are next.

July 26th, 1999
Well, here is the first installment of the news and shows page. I guess the newest action is that we now have this site up and running. We are working all we can this summer to get a two or three song demo out. So far, we have two new songs in addition to the existing four. A few surprises and additions were made to the original four as well.

We also have a new bass player. Albert made a great contribution and we are grateful for it. Mike is now our third bass player. Both Hendrik and Mike are full-time members of Reverse Theology-a band that I (Dave) am temporarily filling in for guitar.
