Lyrics:
Saying the South Started the Civil War for Any Reason Other Than Slavery is Revisionist History and You Know It.

Some of us pay attention. Some of us hate lies. Some of us choose to read. Some of us know why. These days... they write what to believe. All the channels are wrong. They... make... no... sense. Sherman's march should have cured us of war. They knew not what they wrote. We're living history... (in time our lives will be written in lies) Journalism's the first draft of history. Oh please help us all. Who do you let think for you? Who do you give control?

We've Been Around 5.5 Years and Nobody's Heard of Us

Two schools of thought. I'm here for you, or you're here for me; My day or yours. Many times the exalted become the humbled. Yet the meek have not this earth. Spend your days in respect, or help those who help themselves. We could care less... You should think like I do. You should hate like I do these days. You should fear like I do. And you will fail like me. Believe. Forget. Hate. Forget. Forget your history. Then you'll repeat it. Never aspire to know. Never know your name.

Who Cares if You Weed Yourself Out of the Gene Pool?
(Originally released 2001)

I hate the way you drink this all away. You lie. You cheat. You drink this all away. You lie. You cheat. You drink this all away. We will not endure this. Break a nose. Burn a couch. I don't care. For laughing I'm wrong. Yet I'm hardly worse. What is to be done with you all? What is to be done? I don't care... if you weed yourself out of the gene pool. I do care... what your actions do to others. I do care.

I Have Named My Ostrich "Media"

Who asked for bloody hands? Who should be hung as spies? Bury your head when we need you... Cut your hands. Cut our hands. Think before you speak. Consider this my threat... Think before you write. Dream of better. Settle. Better.

OJ's Search for the Real Killers
(Originally released 2003)

Found 'em yet? Better yet have we found ourselves. Please no more. I said no. My TV tells me how to think. But I have a mind of my own. Turn it off. You're as left as who owns you. Just look at whats happening. You're as left as who owns you. Just look all around. Look.

Soft Hands
(Originally released 2000)

We live better than they did. Yet we work half as hard as they did. We're spoiled. They work and made sacrifices so we can live and die with soft hands. Do we care? How do we show we care? We succeed by failure. I would never try. We would never try. What would it mean to those with soft hands to work a day. Then it all makes sense. We blame our problems on others. I find it hard to see your truth. I find it hard to see the root. Then I don't try. Then we don't try. We don't try. They don't try.

Victimless Crime
(Originally released 2000)

I've forgotten no past. Crippled under a same fate. Transparent crutch. This is not clear. Faces empty as spite. Promise falls again. Sky is bleeding again. Ground breaks all thats left. This is not right. This is not clear. We only see what we want to see. No broken bottles. No needles, no needles no veins, no burns on paper... would you even care? Would the world stop? I can see for miles. I can see what is wrong. As I've lost my way. Would you even care? Would the world stop? I can see for miles. I can see what is wrong. This makes no sense. Do we ever? Tired of blurred faces. Tired of lies. All of my truth, that fails me in time. This makes no sense. Do we ever? Victimless crime.

Errata:
Saying the South Started the Civil War for Any Reason Other Than Slavery is Revisionist History and You Know It.

1:05 Would have had lyrics here but they proved too hard to play/sing simultaneously. -AD 1:58 Vocals too early. Whoops. -AD

We've Been Around 5.5 Years and Nobody's Heard of Us

0:03 The vocals on the recording forced changes on what was written. -AD 0:50 I forgot to yell "we could" and only said "whee". -HWJO 1:38 Shuffled vocal order accidentally on recording. Modified lyrics as a result. Was supposed to be think... fear... hate... fail. "these days" was added for rhythm but Mike thought it added new meaning as well. -AD 2:19 One vocal track goes way low on "then you'll repeat it" but it was in tune so we kept it. -AD 3:36 Whoops, Hendrik went heavy and I didn't. Took some arm-twisting to make Hendrik OK with that. -AD 3:36 I'm not sure if I went heavy, but I don't think I meant to play that bass line here regardless. -MG 4:16 Helicopter-type sound appeared on Mike's ring out. It was quite noticeable before mastering, so we considered it our "Oblivion Ghost". -AD

Who Cares if You Weed Yourself Out of the Gene Pool?

0:18 We could swear that sounds like Mike Bossier ;) -LU 1:24 Some type of "bing" sound appears in my guitar. -AD 1:24 I don't think Dave's guitar could have made that sound. -MG 1:25 There it is again. I have no idea how to replicate it. -AD 1:25 And once again Dave is wrong. -MG 1:25 No man, its really me. -AD

I Have Named My Ostrich "Media"

0:00 At this moment I still hadn't differentiated the beat from this song and "We've Been Together Five and a Half Years..."-HWJO 0:03 Vocals weren't supposed to be repeated. Actually, the main vocal track was just a "practice run". Mike Bossier knows better and records all "practice runs". -AD 1:11 One guitar track misses a note with a goofy "plink" sound. I thought it would get lost in the mix. Did it? You decide. -AD

OJ's Search for the Real Killers

0:03 I lost the lyrics to the original song, so I had to rewrite them. Instead of the song being about Gary Condit its now about who controls the media. -AD 0:10 I'm still playing the old bass line for this song because I didn't find out that he rewrote his part when we got back together until we were in the studio. -MG 0:13 Insert "I said no" joke. -AD

Soft Hands 2004

0:11 I was clipping my 5150's preamp gain by playing too hard. By the time 11 seconds comes I figure this out and play more quietly. -AD 0:45 I bend some notes to sound more "rednecky". -AD 2:16 Phil Anselmo is that you? -AD 3:12 The song is 4 years old and I still punched in over and over during that part. -AD 4:19 I missed one note on the fill this go around because I had to relay to Hendrik when Dave wanted to begin the next part through a glass partition. -MG

Victimless Crime

?:?4 Despite these hints not even Dave or Hendrik will ever know which note I missed at this undisclosed location. -MG 0:01 The beginning part is supposed to sound like a mess-up, but Mike honestly messed-up during the phony mess-up. We thought it hilarious that Mike would accidently screw-up during a fake screw-up so we left it in there. -AD 0:43 Hendrik accidently plays ride instead of high-hat, but he left it in anyway. -AD 1:35 I shorten the song in order to update it. -HWJO 2:00 My original guitar track comes out of distortion too early sounding clearly like an error. Punch-in after Punch-in and I finally get it. -AD 2:39 Whoops, vocals too late. -AD 2:47 One guitar track is a little wobbly. -AD 3:41 Apparently being the lead singer and not having to carry equipment isn't enough for Dave so he had to steal the backup vocals from Hendrik and I. -MG
